Filtration
Vitaplas®
PVC plastisols for filtration have been developed to suit the most demanding
of applications from heavy industrial to fuel and air filtration. We provide
a full range of hardnesses and filler loadings to suit each individual
requirement.
Gasket Compounds: Mechanically foamed PVC plastisols
are used in the manufacture of round mouldable gaskets for air filters.
They can be foamed down to a specific gravity as low as 0.70 and provide
a competitive alternative to Polyurethane. We provide a full range of
hardnesses and filler loadings to suit the application and can provide
faster gel systems, which are of
particular use when relatively low oven temperatures are preferred.
Chemically foamed versions of these compounds are also available, as are
solid (unfoamed) versions.
Under the Vitachem® brand, Sealex® sealing compounds are also
produced. Although
Sealex®
is primarily aimed at the metal packaging industry, it is also used for
spin-on oil filters as a gasket seaming compound.
Adhesives: Our
PVC systems are used as an adhesive for bonding the paper elements in
filters to the end cap. The end caps can either be metal, plastic or paper,
and we can provide an adhesive for oil, diesel and petrol filters.
Our range is comprehensive, incorporating thixotropic to free flowing
grades. The thixotropic grades allow both ends of the filter to be fused
at the same time in a single pass through the oven, cutting processing
costs.
